The cemetery, reached along a lawn strip beside the Paris–Lille motorway, is a small hedged battlefield enclosure with a simple metal‑gated entrance of rough white‑stone piers (one with an internal bench) and a Cross of Sacrifice set in an octagonal corner alcove, with little evident input from Lutyens.

Description
It is unlikely that Lutyens had much to do with the design of this small battlefield cemetery, which can be reached by way of a long strip of lawn and is situated next to the Paris- Lille motorway. The entrance consists of cemented pillars of a rough white natural stone that is exceptional for Lutyens, with a metal gate. A bench with a plateau has been added to one of the pillars, on the inside. A hedge surrounds the cemetery. The Cross of Sacrifice has been placed in an octagonal alcove in one corner, just outside the rectangular area of the cemetery.(Geurst, 2010, p.321)
