In 1918 Lady Sackville bought 39 and 40 Sussex Square and commissioned Lutyens to make internal alterations, but his work is believed to have been lost in subsequent conversion of the houses into flats.

In 1918 Lady Sackville bought Nos. 39 and 40 Sussex Square and commissioned Lutyens to make internal changes but all this work is thought to have fallen casualty to later flat conversion.
