Memorial to the Vickers family
Oliver Vickers’s 1928 RAF grave has a bold monument with badge, chunky raised lettering and an American-style eagle, while his father Douglas’s 1937 tomb is a substantial sarcophagus on a recessed plinth with corner discs, almost certainly by Lutyens.

CEMETERY: MONUMENTS. – Oliver Vickers, flying ace, †1928, with the RAF badge, chunky raised lettering and very American eagle atop; his father, Douglas (†1937), has a substantial sarcophagus on a recessed plinth with discs at the corners, surely by Lutyens (cf. his monuments at Windlesham).
