Beaurains Road Cemetery
The small Beaurains cemetery, enclosed by high hedges within a suburban street, is entered beside a corner pedestal bearing the prominently roadside Cross of Sacrifice, mirrored by a matching bench, with hosta‑planted beds and climbing plants softening the internal walls.

Description
The relatively small cemetery lies in the built-up area of Beaurains, a suburb of Arras. The field with graves is encompassed by high hedges that screen off the surrounding buildings. In the northern corner, the wall transforms into a pedestal on which the Cross of Sacrifice has been placed, clearly visible to passers-by. Beside the pedestal there is a modest entrance in the form of a gateway between two piers and as natural stone plateau. The entrance is mirrored in a bench with similar detailing on the other side of the Cross.
On either side of the Cross of Sacrifice there are two flowerbeds with hosta. On the inside, the wall is covered in climbing plants. It is remarkable that Kenyon noted on the approval form that the wall on the roadside should not be higher than 4′ 6″ (approx.. 1.07m). (Geurst, 2010, p.213)
